Portway Tortoise No.2 Antique Vintage Cast Iron Stove Fireplace Wood Coal Burner

Wonderful rare Victorian antique wood burning stove by C Portway of Halstead in Essex.
This is the no.2 size and comes with the usually lost tray.
Portways are still made today but this one I believe dates late 1800's to early 1900's.
These tortoise models were named as such because of their slow efficient burning of fuel. It is in very good condition and ready to be used if wanted for that purpose.

The stove has a grab handle and on rollers, it is intended to move from room to room plugging into a built in flue in each room.  The stove is highly decorative as seen in the photos.  Perhaps to use for decoration purposes.

Small crack (see photo) would need repairing before attempting to light up.
